As the Chief Operating Officer, Daniel is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company. Along with the Executive Team, Daniel’s goal is to fill a gap in college athletics and serve a need that previously went unaddressed by helping coaches and athletic administrators and their families move expeditiously and with as little stress as possible, so they can focus their attention on what’s important—their family and new job!

Daniel was a student-athlete in college and began his professional career as a practicing attorney in Birmingham, Alabama, where his practice consisted primarily of civil litigation defense. Feeling professionally unfulfilled, Daniel took a leap of faith and transitioned into collegiate athletics at Arkansas State University, where he served as the Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance and was the department’s chief compliance officer. After two years, he was fortunate to get a job at his alma mater, the University of Alabama, as the Director of Compliance. He then moved up to a senior leadership role at the University of Southern Mississippi, where he oversaw many of the department’s administrative units, served as the department’s liaison to the General Counsel’s office and was promoted into the C.O.O. role as Executive Associate Athletic Director. After five years at Southern Miss, Daniel accepted a job as the Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics at the University of South Caroline Upstate, where he served for five years and the department enjoyed tremendous success, including its three highest ever finishes in the conference commissioner’s cup, while breaking department cumulative grade point average records along the way.

During his career in collegiate athletics, Daniel, his wife Claudine, and their three sons moved four times in a nine year span, all of which were extremely stressful on his family, including delivering their second son three weeks after arriving in Arkansas, and their third son three months after arriving in Tuscaloosa. With these personal experiences in mind, and after hiring dozens of coaches and administrators throughout his career and watching them endure similar moving challenges, Daniel is excited to help launch D1 Relocation and help bridge a gap that has existed within collegiate athletics for years.

Daniel is also a practicing collegiate sports law attorney and he resides in Spartanburg, SC, with his wife Claudine and their sons Noah, David, and Mark. On most nights and weekends throughout the year, Daniel can be found watching his sons play sports or coaching youth soccer throughout the Carolinas!
